Description
Plot Summary
The story takes place in a future time and space, where the ravages of canine influenza lead to the mayor's (voiced by Kenichi Nomura) enactment of the Dog Exile Act, which places all dogs in the city on a "garbage island" and leaves them to fend for themselves. The mayor's guard dog, Dian Dian (played by Liev Schreiber), bears the brunt of this. In this way, the dogs that were originally kept at home with luxurious clothing and food have become stray dogs searching for food in the garbage dump. The leader (voiced by Bryan Cranston), monarch (voiced by Edward Norton), boss (voiced by Bill Murray), duke (voiced by Jeff Goldblum), and king (voiced by Bob Balaban) are five stray dogs on the island, usually moving together. One day, the adopted son of the mayor, Atari (voiced by Koyu Rankin), suddenly piloted a plane and landed on the island, where he was searching for his lifelong friend Dian Dian.
