Description
Plot Summary
The movie is adapted from Hong Ying's "Death in Shanghai" and Yoko Koizumi's "Shanghai". In 1941. Famous actress Yu Jin returned to Shanghai during her time on the island, ostensibly to star in the play "Saturday Novel" directed by her old love. But what is her true purpose? Is it to rescue her ex husband? To gather intelligence for the Allies? To work for my adoptive father? Or is it to escape war with one's beloved? What is her true mission? As she embarks on her mission, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish between friend and foe. A woman's fate is tightly pulled by the times, how can she make choices that change the world order? In and out of the play, who can escape?
