Plot Summary

Following the impressive ratings and reviews of "White House Farm Murders" and "Dans", ITV has reserved the next true crime drama series, "The Yorkshire Ripper" (tentative title). George Kay, the screenwriter of "Kill Eve" and "Interrogation Room: England", is responsible for the script, while the director of "White House Farm Murder" is in charge. This series consists of 6 episodes and is based on Michael Bilton's book 'Wicked Beyond Belief: The Hunt for the Yorkshire Ripper'. It tells the story of one of the world's most notorious and shocking serial killer cases, the pursuit of Peter Sutcliffe, also known as the 'Yorkshire Ripper'. Between October 1975 and January 1981, the police conducted the largest search operation in British criminal history. The search for Sutcliffe lasted for five years, with over a thousand police officers involved, completely changing the way police work in the UK. The drama will not only focus on the work of the police, but also on the victims and their families, as well as those who are attacked but not believed by others and whose lives are permanently changed.
