Plot Summary
Dutch director Paul Verhoeven's first medieval legendary action film to enter the American film industry, with a strong and arrogant style. Dutch director Paul Verhoeven's first medieval legendary action film to enter the American film industry, with a strong and arrogant style. The male lead, Ratger Howe, rose to fame by starring in Howen's "Orange Warrior", and their value skyrocketed when they collaborated again. The story describes the Crusades that occurred in Europe in the 16th century. Martin, a ronin, and a group of disorganized people formed the Crusades and attacked cities and territories. The nobleman promised to let his men plunder for twenty hours after the city was destroyed, but later broke his promise and ordered the army to surround Martin. At the wedding of Stephen, the son of the Duke, and Anne, Martin led his troops to seek revenge and steal Anne. Stephen had to regain his wife in order to become a warrior, but Anne developed a long-term relationship with Martin, and their love triangle accelerated the flames of war. American actress Jennifer Jason Leigh is the red dot in this masculine and violent film, performing well. Director's Brief: Paul Verhoeven was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and holds dual doctoral degrees in mathematics and physics. During his service, he filmed a documentary for the Royal Dutch Navy. After retiring, he worked as a director at a television station and directed an in-depth documentary called "Muse". What caught his attention abroad were three films produced in the Netherlands: Soldier of Orange (1979), Spetters (1980), and The Forth Man (1983). In 1985, Verhoeven used American funds to direct his first film Flesh&Blood, which was almost rated X-class. Two years later, Robocop, which entered Hollywood, further showcased the intense aesthetic of violence to American audiences. He attaches great importance to creative freedom and must ensure that the film will not be interfered with after completion. His controversial style and scale at the edge of scissors make him an outstanding Dutch director in the American film industry.
