Plot Summary

Ken Loach and Aki Korismaki are very similar, the older the things they shoot, the more tender they appear. No matter what kind of story, you can always feel the compassion of the elderly. This is a film that requires brain teasers for its background. Class conflicts still dominate the story, but they have become intangible. The film is based on the life of Irish Communist Party leader James Gratton, telling the story of his return from exile in the United States in 1933 and the reopening of the Jimmy Dance Hall. The so-called "Jimmy Dance Hall" refers to a dance hall opened by James Gratton in Effrinagh, Ireland, where countless free thinkers studied, debated, dreamed, and entertained themselves. However, "Jimmy's Dance Hall" is likely to be Rocky's last feature film. As early as August this year, Rocky's long-term partner and film producer Rebecca O'Brien had hinted to the media that due to his age and energy, Ken Rocky would only make documentaries and TV series in the future, and was unlikely to make feature films again.
