Description
Plot Summary
This movie depicts a few days in the lives of a writer named Harmon (played by John Cassavetes) and his sister Sarah (played by Gena Rowlands). Most of the plot in the movie takes place in Harmon's home, where they struggle in life: Harmon leads an extremely decadent life, relying on alcohol, cigarettes, and short-term relationships with women to make ends meet: either women he meets through work relationships or women he meets in entertainment venues. He is also a very incompetent father, throwing his 12-year-old son in a hotel room and even teaching him how to drink. And his sister Sarah is divorcing her husband due to her crazy words and actions. Her daughter wants to live with her father, which has caused her great harm and almost mental breakdown. At the end of the movie, Sarah leaves Harmon's house to be with another man, while Harmon walks up to the screen to say goodbye to the audience and bid farewell to his own life.
