Description

Plot Summary

In January 1938, the political atmosphere in Germany became more and more tense, and a sense of panic about the coming rainstorm enveloped the hearts of Jews. Walter first went to Kenya to develop a farm and decided to move his family to Africa for refuge. Under his urging, his wife Zeta bid farewell to her hometown with her 5-year-old daughter Regina and set foot on the unfamiliar African continent. Faced with unfamiliar faces, harsh environments, and barren land, this family began a difficult process of adaptation. Walter, who was originally a lawyer, learned how to manage a farm from scratch, while Jetta, who was accustomed to living a luxurious life, had to learn to live in this underdeveloped and remote area. The heavy physical labor and the sorrow of leaving home gradually made her resentful, and the relationship between husband and wife became increasingly strained. However, full of curiosity, Regina was very interested in everything new around her. She quickly accepted the local customs and made friends with the children, and was fascinated by the vibrant grasslands.
