Plot Summary

The story takes place on the beach in the 1930s. Gordon Wasser is a clever American guy who came to China to seek opportunities for wealth; Griglia is a determined missionary nurse who wants to use the magical power of opium to alleviate the pain of patients. Through a chance encounter, the two come together to search for a lost batch of opium. They fight against local drug dealers and organized crime, and have a romantic love story... Legend has it that after the death of Shanghai's opium king Feladi, a large amount of opium was stolen by his servant Wu Zhongshu and their whereabouts are unknown. One year later, Burns and his assistant Miss Terak from the church decided to find this batch of opium to help the injured soldiers relieve pain. They sought the help of Grandenvesi. However, after Vesi found Feladi's mistress, the Chinese doll, he was kidnapped by the criminal Meijian, who pretended to be a police officer, and subjected to severe interrogation. After being defeated, Wei Xi had originally planned to ignore it, but as she gradually developed feelings for Miss Terak, she decided to continue helping her.
