Description
Plot Summary
In the drug trafficking ridden border between the United States and Mexico, idealistic FBI agent Kate (played by Emily Blunt) voluntarily joins the federal government special forces led by experienced drug enforcement officer Matt (played by Josh Brolin), with the goal of arresting a notorious drug lord with power spread throughout Central America and Mexico. Matt also hired former agent Alessandro (Benicio Del Toro), who had previously been undercover around a drug lord, as his strategic advisor. However, the closer the military's actions are to the core of the drug trafficking group, the more insane and cruel the means of combat become. Kate's moral bottom line and law enforcement beliefs are repeatedly challenged, and she begins to ponder whether using violence to counter violence is the only way to combat crime.
