Description
Plot Summary
Adapted from Yang Zhengguang's novel "Exile". In the mid Qing Dynasty, the White Lotus Doctrine Army active in the northwest region was annihilated by the Qing court, and the followers prepared to die under the leadership of the last religious leader, Cangye. Late at night, Cangye came to Xiumei's room and held a simple wedding ceremony. The Qing army invaded and killed all the male believers. Xiumei, along with other elderly, weak, women, and children, was escorted by General Gan Liu Jiesan and exiled to Xinjiang. Mr. Xu, an old disciple, was appointed as the head of the sect. Xiumei is pregnant, and in order to protect her, Liu claimed that the child is his own. Mr. Xu learned the truth of the matter and helped Xiumei escape. Liu Yi angrily killed all the parishioners, and he himself became a prisoner for dereliction of duty
