Description
Plot Summary
This film is adapted from "Book Enthusiast" in "Liaozhai". Bookworm Lang Yuzhu was bullied by his uncle Lang Zhongyuan and forced to move into the legendary "Xiaolian Mansion" where evil spirits often roam. He met Yan Ruyu's mother and daughter, who died of serious injuries. Yuzhu and Ruyu fell in love for a long time and ended up as a couple. Lang Zhongyuan did not believe that Yuzhu was so lucky. He went to the "Xiaolian Mansion" with his friend Shi Liangjin to investigate. Liangjin saw that Yuzhu was beautiful and charming, and even abducted her and raped her. Liang Jin's wife and concubines, fueled by jealousy and hatred, poisoned jade with peacock bile, turning it into a fierce ghost. They killed Zhongyuan, Liang Jin, and others in revenge. The jade pillar, like jade, is no longer in this world, and cannot help but feel a wave of bitterness, only endless loneliness and nostalgia.
