Plot Summary

In 1992, years of tribal wars caused the mountains and rivers of Somalia in East Africa to crumble, leaving the people struggling to make ends meet. The resulting famine caused 300000 deaths. The dictator Mohammad Faraaidid, who controls the capital city of Mogadishu, has seized aid supplies from international organizations, causing public outrage. The insane Aidid declared war on international peacekeeping organizations, and the United States sent 160 special forces members to Mogadishu to overthrow the Aidid regime. This group of passionate warriors were full of confidence, but due to insufficient intelligence gathering, the war was deadlocked. In a pursuit of two high-ranking officials of the Aidid regime, special forces faced strong resistance from Somali militias. Both sides engaged in a fierce standoff in the city center, with a US Black Hawk helicopter being attacked and crashed into the city, putting the crew in critical condition.
