Plot Summary

Mouse Depero (voiced by Matthew Broderick) has been weak and sickly since childhood, but he has two incredibly large ears. He spent his childhood in the library and gradually began to learn how to recognize characters and read. He enjoyed the stories of heroes saving beauty in fairy tales and often fantasized about becoming a brave knight to lend a helping hand when a beauty was in trouble. During an outing, Depero met Princess Pea (voiced by Emma Watson). Depero, who aspired to become a hero, was expelled by his father Lester (voiced by William H. Macy) for violating the strict laws of the Rat Kingdom. On the vast land outside of the Kingdom of Dole, Depero met Roscuro, a mouse (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) who had also been expelled by his own country. Not long after, the exiled Depero learned that Princess Pea had been imprisoned in a dungeon. Depero, who had a deep love for the princess, decided to fight to the death to rescue her. Will he overcome evil and win the love and dignity he deserves? This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by the famous American children's literature writer Kate DiCaprio.
