Plot Summary

Sasaki's youngest son Kenji (played by Ryohei Inoue) secretly practices piano. Dad Longping (played by Kagawa Zhaozhi) is an ordinary office worker. Mom Hui (played by Koizumi Imari) is a housewife. Brother Gui (played by Xiaoyu You) is a college student who is busy working. This is a seemingly ordinary Japanese family, but in fact, everyone has secrets they don't want others to know. Until one day Kenji returned to his empty home, everything began to slowly surface... This film takes a family of four in Tokyo as a microcosm, deeply depicting its internal turmoil, outlining the struggles of each member, and thus capturing the living conditions of countless people in Tokyo and even Japan in the turbulent situations of the world economic landscape transformation, financial crisis, Middle East war, and so on. This film was selected as one of the top ten Japanese films of 2008 by the "Movie Weekly". Received the Jury Prize in the "One Focus" category at the Cannes Film Festival. Won two awards, Best Screenplay and Best Film, at the 3rd Asian Film Awards (AFA).
