Plot Summary

On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, which shocked the world and ended the most brutal war in human history. Afterwards, General Phileas (played by Matthew Fox) flew to Japan with MacArthur (played by Tommy Lee Jones) to handle post-war affairs. The US military has successively labeled 29 Japanese high-ranking officials as war criminals and arrested them, but the handling of Emperor Hirohito has been particularly difficult for them.
