Plot Summary

Sherrie Christian (played by Julianne Hough), a girl who dreams of becoming a singer, comes to Los Angeles only to find that her money has been stolen by a thief while walking on the street. Drew Boley (Diego Boneta), a boy whom he met by chance, reached out to her and took her to work as a waiter at the bar where he worked. The owner of the bar, Dennis Dupree (played by Alec Baldwin), and his assistant Lonny Barnett (played by Russell Brand) are worried about the financial crisis of the bar, so they decide to invite rock star Stacee Jaxx (played by Tom Cruise) to perform. Sherrie and Drew are attracted to each other and fall in love. During a performance at a bar, due to the occasional absence of a certain band, Drew and his band Wolfgang Von Colt were able to perform on stage and received praise, gradually becoming a well-known band. Due to Sherrie's fanatical admiration for Stacy, Drew had a misunderstanding and the two had to break up. On the other hand, the wife of the mayor of Los Angeles (played by Catherine Zeta Jones) is promoting rock music everywhere, believing that it is enchanting and vulgar, and putting in a lot of effort to cause Dennis' bar to close down.
