Description

Plot Summary

The film fictionalizes what happened during the "mysterious" five days before Edgar Allan Poe's death. A cruel murder case occurred in Baltimore, where both mother and daughter were killed at the same time. After investigating, local police officer Emmett (Luke Evans, played by Luke Evans) found that the murderer's criminal means were identical to those in the novels of Allan Poe (John Cusack, played by John Cusack). Just as Edgar Allan Poe was being called to the police station for questioning, another murder case occurred, using the same techniques as in his novel. After learning about the killer's methods, Emmett invited Edgar Allan Poe to serve as a consultant to assist in solving the case. As the case deepened, Emmett discovered that Edgar Allan Poe would become the next target of this cruel murderer. Just as everyone was fully protecting Edgar Allan Poe's safety, the murderer unexpectedly kidnapped his lover Emily (played by Alice Eve). Who is the real murderer, and can Edgar Allan Poe use his novels to uncover this game of murder?
