Plot Summary
Mandela, born in 1918, was a respected democracy fighter and politician worldwide. He fought for 50 years (1944-1994) to overthrow the white racist rule in South Africa, and was imprisoned by the South African authorities for 27 years (1962-1990). In the first democratic general election held in South Africa in 1994, Mandela was successfully elected as the first black president of South Africa, creating a situation of democratic unity for the new South Africa. The movie 'Long Road to Freedom' is adapted from Mandela's autobiography of the same name, and the story will run from Mandela's childhood to his presidential inauguration speech.
