Plot Summary

The Best Film at the Annecy Animation Festival, hailed as a movie that won't make the audience crave animated dolls, but rather makes the world a better place. In another France ruled by Napoleon V in the mid-20th century, scientists have been missing for 70 years, and great inventions such as flight, electricity, and even film have all been in vain. Only Eiffel built the second iron tower. Coal and steam make the sky smoky, and people have to wear gas masks when going out. The Grand Palace has become a large greenhouse. Afi (played by Marion Cotillard)'s parents are scientists who disappeared without reason.
