Plot Summary
FX booked a 10 episode Getty Family Biography Limited Series' Trust 'a year ago, and it has been confirmed that the series will start filming in London in June and premiere in January 2018. Trust "was developed by Danny Boyle, Simon Beaufoy, and Christian Colso n from Slumdog Millionaire, with Danny Boyle directing and Simon Beaufoy writing. Trust "tells the story of a real wealthy family, with the protagonist being John Paul Getty III, the (former) heir of Getty Oil Company; In 1973, John Paul Getty III was kidnapped in Rome when mafia kidnappers demanded a ransom of $17 million from his family. However, when he was in the hands of the kidnappers, it became a nightmare for him because it seemed as if no one wanted to save him at the time. The Italian police believe this is a prank and therefore refuse to investigate. John Paul Getty III's father, who lost his inheritance rights, used heroin in London, rendering him useless. His grandfather, who may have been the richest person in the world at the time, stayed at Tudor Manor in the suburbs of England, with five mistresses and a pet lion by his side. He was "too busy" to pay any ransom to his grandson (according to other news, it is said that he was unwilling to pay ransom to prevent others from kidnapping other family members in the future). At that time, the only one negotiating with the increasingly desperate kidnappers (by the end, the ransom had been negotiated to $2.9 million) was his mother... the problem was, she had already gone bankrupt. In addition, in reality, after John Paul Getty III was released, his personality underwent a major change, and he also suffered from alcoholism and drug addiction. Later, he lost his inheritance rights and became paralyzed in 1981 after drinking a cocktail mixed with a large amount of drugs, until his death in 2011.
