Plot Summary
What exactly shaped the true you? The movie will focus on Joey Gunnar (voiced by Jamie Foxx). This high school music teacher has been granted the long-awaited opportunity to perform at the best jazz club in New York. But a small mistake took him from the streets of New York to a magical place called 'the Great Before'. There, souls receive training to acquire their personality traits and interests before heading to Earth. Joey, who is determined to return to Earth to live, meets a precocious soul named "Twenty Two" (voiced by Tina Fey), who has been unable to find his interest in human life. As Joey continues to try to showcase the wonders of life to Twenty Two, he will also gain insights into the answers to some of life's ultimate questions.
