Description
Plot Summary
Marquess Mette (Glenn Close) and notorious flamboyant Valmont (John Malkovich) are two friends who can rival each other in love, using sex as a weapon to discredit each other's reputation and status. One day, Mette suggested that Valmont seduce a 16-year-old noble girl named Cecil (played by Uma Thurman), causing her to lose her virginity and ruin her reputation. However, Valmont believed that this was too lacking in challenge, as he not only tempted the pure Cecil. He also added a bet to seduce the devout and beautiful Lady Duville (played by Michelle Pfeiffer), who is known for her chastity. In the end, Madame Duville fell into his arms, and Valmont gradually fell in love with Duville sincerely. Mette was filled with jealousy and asked her music teacher and new lover, Donny (Keanu Reeves), to seek revenge on her behalf. As a result, Valmont died by the sword during a duel with Donny, leaving Duvel heartbroken and causing Mette's reputation to be ruined.
