Plot Summary

Benjamin Finn Finnegan (played by Matthew McConaughey) is a crazy gold miner whose passion for gold makes it difficult for him to find a decent job to support his family like an ordinary person. His wife Tess (played by Kate Hudson) also files for divorce and finds a decent job on the giant ship of millionaire Nigel (played by Donald Sutherland). In an unexpected shipwreck, Finn accidentally discovered a fragment of a dish and inferred that it came from a lost royal property that had been lost for over 300 years. This property was also the common ideal he and his wife had been searching for for for 8 years. Finn decided not to give up this time, but no one around believed his speculation. Finn had no choice but to come up with a nonsensical yet ingenious method to board Nigel's ship, and skillfully convinced him, his daughter, and even Tess to join the treasure hunt.
