Description

Plot Summary

Nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 38th Academy Awards in 1910, "flying machines" were a popular phenomenon of that era. However, precisely because it has just been born, everything is still in its infancy. The editor in chief of the Daily Mail in the UK, Robert Morley, planned and organized a competition to fly from London to Paris. The purpose of this competition is to showcase the superiority of British race. If everything goes as expected, as expected, his son-in-law Richard Metz (James Fox) will win the game. As soon as the news of the competition was released, it received enthusiastic registrations from aircraft enthusiasts around the world. However, this game, which should have been an adventurer's competition, became a contest for the love of Patricia Ronsley (played by Sarah Miles). This film was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 38th Academy Awards in 1966, Best Picture in a Musical or Comedy at the 23rd Golden Globe Awards, and Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. The film depicts the personalities of pilots from different countries: rigid Germans, cunning French, arrogant Italians, and unlucky Japanese, while the British and Americans are portrayed as good people who help each other. Many classic scenes in the film have been imitated by many comedy films in the future, paying tribute to this film.
