Plot Summary

The movie that uses Hollywood's story structure to reveal the real social problems in Germany was once a police officer named Hans (played by Hans Hirschm ü ller) who lost his job after being falsely accused by a prostitute. In order to make a living, he had to become a fruit vendor with great ambitions. Hans was unable to gain the trust and appreciation of his beloved girl's parents, and at the age of starting a family, he eventually married a woman named Irm Hermann. Since getting married, Hans' life has officially gone downhill, and Ilmggart's rudeness and impoliteness have added insult to injury to Hans' dissatisfaction. Hans suffered from a heart attack, and during his hospitalization, Ilmggart, who was alone in his empty room, couldn't bear the loneliness and had an unethical relationship with his neighbor Ansel (played by Karl Scheydt). After being discharged, Hans was no longer able to sell fruits on the street and instead set up fruit stalls. By chance, he reunited with his comrade Harry (played by Klaus Lwitsch). Although Harry brought a lot of happiness to the Hans family, he still couldn't stop Hans from heading towards despair.
