Description
Plot Summary
This film won the Academy Award for Best Makeup, the French Caesar Award for Best Picture, and the Best Director Award. The movie vividly and scientifically depicts the aspects of human life in the Paleolithic era, revolving around the search for a spark. A tribe from the Paleolithic era, while being attacked and killed by other tribes and chased by wolf packs, drifted to a swamp. Startled, suffering from hunger and cold, dead and wounded, the torch guarded by the tribe mercilessly extinguished at this critical juncture. Overnight, the tribe fell from the prosperous economic life of sitting around a campfire in their cave dwelling to being displaced and camping in the wilderness, trembling in the cold night. Without fire, even without enemy beasts chasing after them, the tribe would not survive for long in frostbite and injury. The elder of the tribe made a decision with profound historical significance, appointing three brave men to go out and search for the spark .......
