Description
Plot Summary
At the 18th Shanghai International Film Festival Golden Goblet Award for Best Picture, Billy (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) was renowned in the boxing world for his fierce and ruthless left fist, and was unbeatable for a time, making him the undisputed boxing champion. However, an unexpected event caused Billy to lose his beloved wife, Morin (played by Rachel McAdams). This tragedy completely shattered Billy, who began to give up on himself, not only giving up his career, but also drinking and using drugs. As a result, he was deprived of custody of his daughter, Leila (played by Oona Laurence), and Leila was sent to a welfare institution. The departure of his daughter gradually brought Billy to his senses. He was extremely disappointed with his terrible situation and decided to reform himself. Billy hopes to stand on the boxing ring again, and he finds coach Wells (Forest Whitaker) hoping he can help him regain everything he has lost.
