Plot Summary
The Last Ship was originally a bestselling novel from 1988, depicting the nuclear war between the United States and Russia that led to the destruction of the world and the extinction of its population. Coincidentally, a destroyer DDG 80 patrolling the Barents Sea became one of the few survivors, and the story of how the crew survived and how they managed to survive after the world was destroyed. In July 2012, the American cable television network TNT purchased the filming rights for the novel, making slight changes to address the sudden outbreak of an abnormal disease in the early 21st century and future survival issues. In early November, outdoor filming was conducted at the San Diego base and on the destroyer DDG 97
