Plot Summary

In Edinburgh, Scotland, three young people named Leiden (played by Ewan McGregor), Potato (played by Ewen Bremner), and Sick Boy (played by Jonny Lee Miller) live a chaotic and decadent life. They engage in drug abuse, promiscuity, and fraud, and in the process of squandering their youth recklessly, drugs become the root of all evil. Leiden loved and hated him, trying to quit drugs but ultimately repeating the same mistake. After indulging in a wild celebration, the three of them lost their baby with the girl Alison (played by Susan Vidler). Starting from this, the nightmare truly descended. During the potato robbery, Leiden was arrested and sent to the hospital for emergency treatment due to drug overdose. He was later forced to quit drugs. The terrifying hallucinations and the angry fear in his heart forced him to cut ties with drugs. Seemingly a beautiful new life, but former friends such as Begbie (played by Robert Carlyle) come knocking on his door and bring him endless troubles again...
