Plot Summary

Liu Guozhong (played by Simon Yam) is a terminally ill police officer with a bleak future. He is tasked with protecting the daughter of a witness. Inspector Ma Jun (played by Donnie Yen) is a skilled martial artist who is determined to take over Zhong's position. The undercover agent sent by Zhong to the underworld boss Baoye (played by Sammo Hung) died unexpectedly for unknown reasons, and Zhong suspects that Baoye was responsible. So he escorted Baoye to the police station for questioning, but due to the lack of evidence, Zhong had no choice but to fabricate evidence to accuse Baoye. The entire police station was well aware of this, except for the military. However, the evidence mysteriously disappeared. When Baoye walked out of the police station, he threatened to kill all of Zhong's subordinates. As expected, his cold-blooded assassin Jack (played by Wu Jing) killed Zhong and his group of subordinates. Ma Jun unexpectedly discovered that there was still a grudge between Zhong's subordinates and Baoye. In his anger, Ma Jun decided to fight to the death with Baoye and Jack.
