Plot Summary

CIA counterterrorism agent Carrie (Claire Danes) is on a mission in the Middle East when her informant reveals a shocking secret to her: a captured American soldier has defected and is now serving Al Qaeda, preparing to launch terrorist attacks on American soil. A few months later, the US Marine Corps discovered Sergeant Nicholas Brody (played by Damian Lewis), who had been captured for nearly nine years, in Afghanistan based on intelligence reports. Brody, who had returned home with honor, received heroic treatment. Meanwhile, Carrie was also transferred back to her home country by the CIA and firmly believed that Brody was the defected soldier, thus secretly conducting an investigation. Brody discovers that his wife Jessica (played by Morena Baccarin) is in a relationship with a good friend, and he becomes jealous and has sex with Carrie. Carrie fell in love with this man on one hand, but on the other hand, she still has doubts about him. Has Brody defected? How will his relationship with Carrie develop?
