Description

Plot Summary

Retired soldier Jay found it difficult to make a living and find a job after returning to the UK. Under duress, he teamed up with his old partner Gal to work as a professional assassin. But the mysterious hired individuals and eerie midnight cult rituals that followed made them realize they had been exploited... The film was rated as the "weirdest," "scariest," and "most unexpected" British horror film in history. Despite the interweaving of family dramas, horror films, and best friend comedies in the movie, the director perfectly blends these three different genres, especially incorporating seemingly innate humor in the portrayal of the Killer Brothers, which is breathtaking. Its classic level is no less than Quentin's portrayal of the brothers in Pulp Fiction. The opening tone of the movie may lead the audience to mistakenly believe it is a post Iraqi gangster police film, and as the story progresses, the overall style of the movie officially shifts to a horror film. The director likes horror movies from the 1970s because "movies are a portrayal of that era." Therefore, he wants to bring a sense of the times into his films, portraying an ordinary family that is burdened by many pressures of reality, heavily in debt, and unable to turn over. The only redemption is to isolate oneself. The Killing List has received numerous nominations at the British Independent Film Awards and is hailed as the best horror film in the UK in twenty years.
