Plot Summary

In 1914, in a small town in Devonshire, a boy named Albert (played by Jeremy Irvine) witnessed the birth of his foal Joey. At the market, it was frequently auctioned off and was eventually acquired by Albert's father Ted (played by Peter Mullan) for a sky high price of 30 taels, causing him to offend the landlord with a limp. Albert and Joey frolicked and shared with their friends. However, the good times didn't last long. The landlord visited and said that if Joey couldn't plow the land, he would take him away immediately. So Ted gambled all his belongings. So, under pressure, Albert put on a saddle kick for Joey, forced him to plow the field, and even used a whip, but he couldn't make him surrender. In order to repay his debts, Ted personally went to plow the land, and his hard work paid off. He worked hard and earned a harvest, but a heavy rain destroyed everything. The German army attacked, and my father was forced to sell his horse to the cavalry army in exchange for 30 guineas. Although Albert couldn't let go, he could only bid farewell to Joey with tears and embark on an uncertain battlefield. During the war, Joey's master kept changing, from a British captain, a French farmer and granddaughter, to a German cavalry. However, what it truly awaited was Albert. Can they reunite
