Description

Plot Summary

According to The Sunday Times, the opening ceremony of the London Olympics will recreate some historical scenes and end with the Beatles' old song "Hey Jude". On the evening of July 27th at 9 o'clock, the largest clock in Europe will be struck, and the Olympic opening ceremony will begin. The clock is engraved with the sentence from Shakespeare's classic "The Tempest": "Don't be afraid, the island is full of voices. The theme of the opening ceremony quoted 'The Tempest' and was designated as' Wonderful Island '. The stadium will be transformed into a British countryside, and actors will bring real cows and sheep to the green grass, presenting a pastoral scene to the audience. Afterwards, people will recreate the scene of a group of immigrants from the West Indies who arrived in England on the Imperial Swift in 1948 to start a new life, as well as the history of how women fought for the right to vote. In addition, the opening ceremony will also recreate the historical scene of over 200 workers from the northeast of England, known as the "Gallo Crusades," walking to the London Parliament building to protest in 1936. In 1936, during the Great Depression, these people protested against poverty and a high unemployment rate of up to 70%.
