Description
Plot Summary
Kareem Lynch (played by Michael Fassbender) wakes up before his execution and discovers that he has been chosen by Sofia (played by Marion Cotillard) to participate in a project that can free humanity from violent impulses. The virtual reality machine Animus allows users to experience the memories of their ancestors. After being tied to the machine, Callum Lynch realizes that he is a descendant of an assassin named Aguilar who lived during the Spanish Inquisition period. They are searching for the Eden Apple, which can control their free will. Under pressure from her father Allen (played by Jeremy Irons), Sofia reluctantly manipulates Callum Lynch back in time to search for the whereabouts of the Eden Apple in the modern world, threatening his physical and mental health. But after fellow assassin Musa (played by Michael Williams) hints at Callum Lynch, reminding him that Allen may have impure motives, Callum Lynch begins to reconsider his actions and motives, and the fate of human free will becomes uncertain
