Plot Summary

The story takes place in Chang'an City during the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Bai Letian (played by Huang Xuan) was originally an important official in the court, but he was willing to be demoted to the position of a magistrate in order to collect materials for writing poetry. Strange deaths have occurred repeatedly in Chang'an City, even the current emperor cannot escape the fate of mysterious deaths, all of which are related to a elusive demon cat. Japanese monk Kukai (played by Shota Ranya) originally came across the ocean to help the emperor break the curse, but he shares the same fate as Hakurei. The two are determined to work together to investigate the truth of the case. A poignant poem called "Qing Ping Diao" indicates that the mischief of the demon cat is intricately linked to the death of Yang Guifei (played by Zhang Rongrong), who was once infatuated with Yang Guifei thirty years ago. Pursuing the diary left by Abe Nakamaru (played by Abe Kuan), who was once infatuated with Yang Guifei, Bai Letian and Kong Hai witnessed the glory of the Tang Dynasty and uncovered the conspiracy that has been concealed until now.
