Plot Summary

Spike TV announced the pre order of six new episodes of the drama "Tutankhamun". Tutankhamun (played by Avan Jogia) was the 18th Egyptian pharaoh who ruled Egypt from 1333 BC to 1323 BC. His golden mask became a symbol of ancient Egyptian civilization. It is said that the drama will change the pattern of previous similar works and focus on the recently discovered DNA evidence (Tutankhamun's father and mother are likely siblings, which led to Tutankhamun's congenital disease and fragile immune system). In an era full of power struggles, political betrayals, wars, murders, and social chaos, the young Tutankhamun had his own glory, but ultimately could not escape the tragic ending of early death. According to the concept of this series, Tutankhamun hastily ascended to the throne of pharaoh due to the sudden murder of his father. In order to consolidate his power, he was forced to marry his own sister. At that time, the real power in Egypt was held by three people who controlled Tutankhamun as a puppet, but Tutankhamun won the battle and regained power. Just as Tutankhamun was preparing to achieve great success, he was betrayed and ultimately died tragically. Ben Kingsley plays Ay, the Grand Vizier (equivalent to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom) in front of Tutankhamun. He holds power over tens of thousands of people and is the highest advisor to this young Egyptian ruler. Sibylla Deen plays Anke, the sister and wife of Tutankhamun. Kylie Bunbury, who co starred with the male lead Avan Jogia in "Twisted Youth," plays Suhad, but the details of the character are unknown. Peter Gadiot plays Ka, who grew up with Tutankhamun since childhood and is his close confidant. But he has always admired Anke, the wife of Tutankhamun, privately, and his loyalty to Tutankhamun is questionable. The series is produced by Muse Entertainment, and the Emmy nominated "The Kennedys" and critically acclaimed "Pillars of the Earth" are works of the company. The drama was filmed in Morocco and Canada and aired in 2015.
