Plot Summary

Hungarian immigrant Willie (played by John Lurie) living in New York is a young man who considers himself fashionable. At the request of his aunt, he reluctantly receives his cousin Ava (played by Ist Berndt eszter balint), whom he has never met before, to stay at his residence for 10 days. However, in the short and boring ten days, the individualistic Ava gradually won Willie's favor and became friends with his good friend Eddie (played by Richard Edson). After a year, Willie and Eddie won a lot of money playing poker, and they decided to leave the city and go to Cleveland to find Ava. Due to boredom, the three friends decided to leave Cleveland and go on vacation together to Florida after the round. However, in Florida, the boring time finally underwent a dramatic change. Willie and Eddie lost all their money in dog racing, while Ava was walking by the beach and was mistakenly identified by a drug dealer to obtain an unexpected fortune. After leaving some money for her two companions, Ava prepared to buy a plane ticket to fly back to Europe. At the same time, Willie and Eddie went to horse racing and won the money back. Can they successfully recover Ava at the airport? This film won the Gold Leopard Award at the 1984 Locarno International Film Festival and the Special Jury Award at the 1985 Sundance Film Festival.
