Description
Plot Summary
The story takes place in 1926 in a remote village located in Aldova, where a 16-year-old girl named Mushet (played by Sandrine Bonnaire) not only carries a child in her womb, but also commits the crime of killing her lover. Carrying a heavy burden of guilt, she found the village priest Donisand (G é rard Depardieu), hoping to gain God's forgiveness through repentance. Duo Nisan was a very devout believer who had already decided to dedicate himself entirely to the Lord. He prayed day after day for decades, even beating his back with vines, just to drive away the demons lurking in his heart. For Duo Nisan, there were too many demons lurking around him, constantly testing his faith. Unfortunately, under the guidance of Dosanisan, Mushette ultimately chose to commit suicide, and with her death, Dosanisan's spirit began to gradually collapse.
