Plot Summary

This film reflects the social problems of Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s by depicting the process of a Hong Kong police officer transforming from an ideal youth to a legendary hero. In 1949, the passionate young man Lei Luo (played by Andy Lau) became a police officer. At that time, the treatment of Hong Kong police was not high, and the unwritten rule of police charging protection fees to merchants had become prevalent. Lei Luo was unwilling to collude with them and was ostracized by his colleagues. He also offended the influential detective Yan Tong (played by Qin Pei), facing the danger of suspension. However, the detective Chen Tong (played by Guan Haishan) secretly admired him and protected him.
