Plot Summary

After the death of the old estate owner, the poor mother and daughter were expelled from the estate by their eldest son. With the help of their relatives, they settled down in a small farmhouse. What the powerful sister-in-law didn't expect was that her brother Edward (Hugh Grant) fell in love with Eleanor (Emma Thompson), the eldest sister of the three sisters. Although rational Eleanor also fell in love with Edward, she tried to restrain her emotions despite the significant disparity in their status.
