Plot Summary

On July 2nd of a certain year in the future, surveillance stations across the United States discovered a massive spacecraft with a diameter of several hundred miles approaching Earth. The radio signals emitted by the spacecraft interfered with Earth's communication satellite signals and sent multiple sub spacecraft with a diameter of 15 miles flying over major cities on Earth. The enemy and friend of the alien spacecraft are unknown, and people are in panic and confusion. Computer engineer David (played by Jeff Goldblum) deciphered the radio signal emitted by aliens, which was actually a countdown signal to the attack. He managed to notify his ex-wife, the President's assistant Connie, but it was too late. On July 3rd, alien spacecraft began attacking Earth, causing a huge blow and disaster to human civilization in an instant. The President (played by Bill Pullman) and others evacuated to a military base, commanding the Air Force to counterattack, but it was like using an egg to strike a stone, with no effect. The military base was also destroyed, and only pilot Steven (played by Will Smith) managed to lure an alien combat airship to crash. The survivors fled to a secret military base where scientists have been studying an alien airship that crashed over 50 years ago, dedicated to finding a way to deal with the aliens. It is also the last hope for humanity
