Plot Summary

In the future, the Earth will no longer be able to support such a large population, so it will need to travel to space to search for other habitable planets. On the way to finding a suitable planet, humans began training chimpanzees to replace humans in completing some simple tasks. During a flight mission, astronaut Leo (Mark Wahlberg)'s gorilla piloted spacecraft encountered a space storm and lost contact with the space station. In order to save his partner, Leo disregarded obstacles and piloted the spaceship alone to the center of the storm. But in the end, the spaceship crashed onto a strange planet. When Leo woke up, he was caught by a group of apes. After careful observation, it was found that on this planet, apes possess extremely high intelligence and dominate the planet, while real humans have become slaves to apes. In order to get out of his predicament, Leo began his escape with the help of his mother ape Airy (played by Helena Bonham Carter). During the escape, Leo's signal receiver gradually received signals from the mother ship. When everyone followed the signal's guidance, they found that the destination was the place where the ancestors of hominids were first born, and Leo recognized that this was the mother ship from the beginning.
