Description

Plot Summary

During the Warring States period in Japan, various feudal lords launched continuous conquests, causing the people to be separated from their families and children, resulting in unbearable suffering. It was not until the establishment of the Tokugawa shogunate that the country became slightly more stable. However, there are still feudal lords whose ambitions do not die and who are restless, and beneath the surface of peace, there is a surging tide. Under the guidance of Master Tianhai from Nanguangfang (played by Keisuke Sato), Kobayama Tsuyoshi (played by Yoshio Harada), who lost his beloved son during the war, establishes an assassin group with the aim of assassinating feudal lords who are plotting rebellion. A teenage girl named Amo (played by Ayaka Uedo) who lost her parents and nine boys were adopted by Tsukishi and trained as assassins. They not only need to possess exquisite martial arts skills, but also abandon all emotions and values. After years of training, Amo and his surviving friends embarked on their journey as killers, full of blood and fighting... This film won the Newcomer of the Year Award (Aya Uedo) and Most Popular Actor Award at the 2004 Japanese Academy Film Awards, the Special Jury Award at the 2004 Boston Independent Film Festival, and the Audience Award at the 2004 Philadelphia Film Festival.
