Plot Summary

In 2035 AD, it will be a society where humans and robots coexist harmoniously. Intelligent robots, as the best production tools and human partners, will gradually penetrate into various fields of human life. Due to the limitations of the "Three Laws" of robots, humans have full trust in robots, and many robots have even become family members. USR, headquartered in Chicago, has developed a more advanced NS-5 super powered robot. However, just before the launch of the new product, the creator of the robot, Dr. Alfred Lanning, mysteriously committed suicide within the company. Black detective Dale Spooner (played by Will Smith) takes over the investigation of this case. Due to unpleasant past events, Spooner is full of doubts about robots and does not believe that humans and robots can coexist harmoniously. Based on the analysis of the information left by Dr. Langning in the 3D projector before his death and the investigation of the suicide scene, he suspected that the target was Dr. Langning's self-developed NS-5 robot, Sonny, and the company's president Lawrence Robertson seemed to be involved in this matter.
