Description
Plot Summary
Wang (played by Chow Yun fat) led a rebellion and seized the throne. In order to further consolidate his position, he drove away his ex-wife and married the princess and current queen of Liang (played by Gong Li) to gain the support of the King of Liang. Wang Ziyuan Xiang (played by Liu Ye) is the child left by his ex-wife, and Wang and the current queen also gave birth to Yuan Jie (played by Jay Chou) and Yuan Cheng (played by Qin Junjie). The queen, however, has an undisclosed incestuous relationship with Yuan Xiang. Wang has always been obsessed with his ex-wife and claims that she has passed away.
