Plot Summary

In the mid-16th century, the British ambassador to France was assassinated, and the deceased was the uncle of the young British king Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). This made the king extremely angry and immediately summoned his ministers to prepare troops for France. However, Cardinal Volkin (played by Sam Neill) weighed the interests of all parties and did not support the Anglo French conflict.
