Description

Plot Summary

The documentary, which tells the story of World War II in high-definition color images, was produced by award-winning director, writer, and producer Frederic Lumiere using thousands of hours of archives and filming materials, unpublished diaries, and recordings from the Library of Congress for the History Channel. It is a 10 episode high-definition documentary that tells the story of World War II through the eyes of a group of people encountered during the war. The greatest conflict between civilizations has been mentioned countless times. A Frenchman couldn't help but cry as German soldiers descended from the Arc de Triomphe, the American flag was raised on Mount Everest, and mushroom clouds rose over Hiroshima, all of which are familiar and vivid images. The History Channel recreated this period of history using the latest technology and its own way (released in the autumn of 2009), for which audiences waited for half a century. Using high-definition full-color images, 1500 hours of restored archival materials and newly captured video footage, previously unpublished diaries and records, and audio materials from the Library of Congress, the History Channel opens a unique window for viewers to understand this war, allowing them to examine it through the eyes of a group of people they met during World War II. Never in history or in the records of the History Channel has a television program so vividly captured the ultimate terror, indomitable spirit, ordinary trivialities, and supreme glory of this world changing war. This is the most ambitious documentary of the History Channel to date, and in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the History Channel stated that it will be "breathtaking". As the producer and director of this documentary, I am naturally extremely busy. If we only stay in the studio to work on this project, we will definitely not be able to achieve the goals of the History Channel. I have to move to Normandy, New York, and even more places. Because it spans multiple time zones and is far apart, this project requires a more controllable workflow. The History Channel's "WWII in HD" was produced and directed by Frederic Lumiere, an award-winning director and editor, and a recognized leader in high-definition production and post production in the industry. Lumiere, who has produced works such as' The Magic of Fatima ', propelled the development of RED digital cameras and created Lumiere HD. WWII in HD is co produced by Lou Reda Productions and Lou Reda, with Scott Reda as executive producer and Liz Reph and Frederic Lumiere as producers.
