Plot Summary

Captain Kurt Stevens (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), a US Air Force pilot on a mission in Afghanistan, suddenly woke up and found himself on a high-speed train, with a stranger named Christian (played by Michelle Monaghan) sitting next to him talking to him. Cole didn't know why he was in this car, and he discovered that he actually existed as another person. Just as he was confused, an explosion suddenly occurred on the train... Kurt woke up again and found himself in a sealed space capsule. A female officer named Goodwin (played by Vera Farmiga) was talking to him through video and demanding that he report what happened on the train. Before Kurt could figure out what was going on, he was once again sent on that train. After this, Kurt finally realized that he was on a mission to investigate the Chicago train bombing, find the terrorists, and identify his next target. Kote was repeatedly sent onto the high-speed train for only eight minutes each time for investigation. During the investigation, Kote discovered that he had passed away a week ago. It turned out that he was participating in a secret mission called "brainwave original code", which reconstructed the event and investigated the truth through images of the brain cells of Kote, who had already died but had not yet fully died. In the end, Kurt successfully completed the task, but he decided to return to the train again and save the innocent lives on board
