Plot Summary

The series is a prequel to the classic novel Treasure Island, set "20 years before" the time of the novel, when Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his "Walrus" were not yet famous. The drama will be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa and is tentatively scheduled to air in 2014 (to fill the gap after the end of the Spartacus trilogy). The first season will consist of 8 episodes. Flint is one of the most famous pirate characters in literary history and a representative figure of the Golden Age of Pirates. He and some people established an anarchic community called the "Pirate Paradise" on New Providence Island and fought against various hostile forces to maintain the existence of New Providence. In this criminal's safe haven, besides pirates from all directions, there are also various prostitutes, robbers, thieves, and treasure hunters. Hannah New plays the beautiful, brave, and confident bar owner Eleanor, who is familiar with both black and white scenes. On the one hand, she helps low-level pirates sell their stolen goods, and on the other hand, she also holds dances for wealthy and influential figures. Zach McGowan plays Captain Charles Vane, who is a competitor to Captain Flint. Luke Arnold played the legendary sailor John Silver, but he was not as famous as Flint at the time. Jessica Parker Kennedy from The Secret Society plays a tormented young prostitute who witnesses the dark side of New Providence Island. Mark Ryan plays Gates, the right-hand man of Captain Flint.
